Agapov-Tagansky Association for Pædagogical Studies

Founded 2010. Based in Moscow, Russia.

Named after Prof. Maksim Agapov-Tagansky (1890–1973) – the prominent leader of the National Organisation of Russian Scouts in exile (Yugoslavia), the author of distinguished “Pædagogical Fundamentals of Scoutism” (1920, in Russian), “Ideological Fundamentals of Scoutism” (1928, in Serbo-Croatian), and many other works on scouting, education, and psychology.

Aims

  • Development and propagation of the Scouting method.
  • Reseach into history of youth movements.

Activities

  • Science conferences (2008, 2012, 2016).
  • Agapov medal (6 medals awarded since 2012).
  • Publications on scouting and history (7 books to date, in Russian).
